Robert “Byrdman” Miner passed away at home on Feb. 12, 2007. He was born Aug. 18, 1942 in Kansas City, MO. As a child he spent his summers in Centerview, IA with his grandparents. He served 2 years in the US Navy and worked as a surveyor for 30 years. His passions were music and dancing. He was an avid Chiefs fan, loved to spend time at his lake house, squirrel watching, sunning on the porch and spending time with family and friends. His proudest moments were the marriages of his daughters and the birth of his beautiful granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his mother Avonelle Miner, grandparents and Scruffy. He is survived by his father, Robert C. Miner; wife, Patty, of 26 years; daughters, Leslie Spradley and husband Donald; Alex Davis and husband Craig & their daughter Adrienne Rose; in laws, Mickey & Dee Rooney; Mike & Diane Rooney; Sandy Cunningham; Mitch Rooney; Marty Rooney; 5 nieces and nephews; 10 great nephews; and his vigilant puppy, Lola. His humor and free spirit will be missed by all of his friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Grace Hospice or the Radiation Dept. at Research Medical Center. A gathering will be held Mon, Feb. 19th from 4-6 PM at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, MO. You are “FREE BYRD”!
