Robert “Bob” O’Farrell

Robert Desmond O’Farrell, 82, passed away Monday, August 26, 2013. He was born February 17, 1931, in Kansas City, Kansas. As a boy, he worked for the Kansas City Star and returned years later. He received a B.A. in Education at K.U. and taught Latin at Shawnee Mission North and in Colorado. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Essex during the Korean Conflict. “Uncle Bob” is survived by his sister, Kathleen Elliott; his niece, Dawn Elliott and family; his brother Dr. Thomas P. O’Farrell and family; friends Dorothy McLaughlin and family; and Leonard Gerkin. He is preceded by his parents, Desmond F. and Margaret E. O’Farrell, and his beloved dog, Patsy III. Family burial ceremony Sept. 3, 12:30 pm at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, Kansas. Memorial service will be held Saturday, September 7th, 2013, 3:00 pm at Indian Height’s Methodist Church, 103^rd & Nall, Overland Park, Kansas 66207 (arr.
