Robert J. Smith, 51, Kansas City, MO, passed away June 23, 2005, at Truman Medical Center West. A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 2 at Heartland Cremation and Burial Society, Raytown, MO. Contributions may be made to Truman Medical Center West or to American Cancer Society. Robert was the choir director at Our Lady of Lourdes, St. Bernadette’s and Redemptorist Catholic Churches and often substitute taught for the Raytown School District. Robert was preceded in death by his father Robert Eugene Smith. He is survived by his mother Alice Smith; sister Katherine Kelley; brother Timothy J. Smith; friend Mary Finn; and many nieces and nephews. Robert’s family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Truman Medical Center in their kind and compassionate care of Robert during his illness.
