Robert Wayne Whitney passed away July 16, 2008 at Pinnacle Ridge in Olathe. Robert was born September 22, 1949, in Kansas City, Kan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Solange Whitney and daughter Valinda Whitney-Lodge. He is survived by his daughter, Valerie Brownlee; son, Robert L. Whitney; sister, Barbara Doles; brother, Bo Whitney, all of Olathe; four grandchildren, Tyler Whitney-Lodge, Robbie Whitney, Cheyenne Whitney, and Lee Whitney. His life dream was to be a great drummer and he succeeded at that. He was a DJ and also played for several name bands. Robert played locally in Olathe at the VFW and Amvets. A memorial gathering will be at the VFW Hall, 1205 Ott St., Olathe, 2 p.m., on Saturday, July 19, 2008.
