Roberta Fitzgerald, 72, Independence, MO passed away Aug. 20, 2009 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. A memorial service will be held 5 PM, Sat. Sept. 5, 2009 at Maywood Baptist Church, 10505 E. Winner Rd, Independence, MO. Bert was born Feb. 26, 1937 in Kansas City, MO to Robert and Catherine Rose. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dennis Michael Fitzgerald II, son, Andy Vaughn and three grandchildren. Survivors include, children, Roberta L. Vaughn, Zella C. Snyder, Carl R. Vaughn, Dennis M. Fitzgerald III, Marjorie D. Fitzgerald, Leah R. Theel, Patrick P. Fitzgerald and wife Darla, and Carrie L. Fitzgerald. Also surviving Bert are 21 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren, siblings, Carla Ruddicks, Dallas Rose, Sonny Rose and Lydia Gladfelder, along with a host of extended family members. Bert was a loving mother and grandmother, and cherished the time she spent with her loved ones. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the family, to defer funeral costs.
