Ronald Eric Homestead, 81, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at John Knox Village Care Center in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Ron was born in Brooklyn, NY to Lillian (Scharp) and Eric Homestead in 1933.
Ron was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous for over 34 years.
Ron worked in the construction trade in California, retiring from the Northern California Carpenter’s Union in 1989. He also worked at Stanford Research Institute in Menlo Park, CA on a number of projects – including a patented branding device with Dr. Thomas Poulter.
Ron was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Edward, of Myrtle Beach, NC and his niece, Rhonda Evett Richardson of Atlanta, GA.
Survivors include his son and his wife, Ken and Kathy Homestead, of Sonora, CA; his daughter and her husband, Cathy and John Stevens, of Dunbarton, NH; his niece, Rebecca Homestead of Quincy, MA; and grandchildren and cousins.
