Ron Trachsel
Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather
1941 – 2025
Ron Trachsel, a devoted family man, hardworking entrepreneur, and beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. He was a man whose roots ran deep in the soil of Western Kansas and whose values shaped not only his own life but the lives of all who knew him.
Born and raised on a farm in Goodland, Kansas, Ron learned the value of hard work and perseverance at a young age—qualities that stayed with him for a lifetime. A standout student and athlete, he played center on his high school football team, proudly holding the line at just 150 pounds. That team went undefeated his senior year—a reflection of Ron’s grit, heart, and tenacity.
After high school, Ron attended Graceland College, where fate introduced him to the love of his life, Pat. Their bond quickly became the foundation of a lifetime of love, laughter, and unwavering support. They married young and never looked back, building a beautiful life together.
Ron continued his education, earning his MBA from the University of Kansas. He was soon offered a position with Exxon in Texas, where his talent and leadership earned him recognition. An executive opportunity in Manhattan, New York followed—a dream for many. But Ron, ever the family man, made a different choice. With his Iowa farm-raised pregnant wife and their three-year-old daughter, Shauna, he knew the fast pace of the city wasn’t right for them. He turned down the job and set out on his own path, moving the family to Kansas City to start a business in the staffing and recruiting industry.
Launching a business during a recession took courage and conviction—but Ron had both. His determination paid off, and over the years, his success allowed him not only to grow his company but to grow his family. Ron and Pat welcomed two more children, Denise and Jason, into their lives, creating a warm, loving home full of laughter and life.
Family was everything to Ron. He cherished every moment spent with them—from big holidays to two hand touch football in the backyard, to enjoying Starbucks with Pat on the pergola. As his children grew and married, his joy multiplied. Shauna and Doug gave him three granddaughters, two adopted grandsons and countless foster kids. Denise and David brought him two grandsons and two granddaughters. Jason and Brooke completed the family with three grandsons and a granddaughter. Ron was also blessed to meet and love three great-grandchildren.
At the heart of everything Ron did was his love for Pat. Their marriage was the kind that people aspire to—a true partnership, filled with devotion, kindness, and joy. Their love story was the foundation of the Trachsel family, a shining example of commitment and enduring affection.
After 52 successful years in business, Ron retired to enjoy the fruits of a life well lived—surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His legacy is not just in the work he did, but in the family he nurtured and the lives he touched.
Ron Trachsel will be remembered for his integrity, his warmth, his sense of humor, and above all, his deep love for those he held dear. He leaves behind a family united in love, inspired by his example, and grateful for every moment shared.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 pm on June 1st, 2025 at the Olathe Community of Christ at 15520 S Ridgeview Rd, Olathe, KS 66062.
