Rosemarie (Rosy) Boan

Rosemarie Boan, Independence, formerly of Concordia, Mo passed away January 14, 2014 at age 86.  She was born Aug. 22, 1927 in Essex, IA to Oscar and Hazel Swanson.  She attended Essex High School. After graduation she attended AIB Business College in Des Moines, IA. In 1947 she was married to Douglas Boan and they moved to Missouri in January of 1952. In 1963 they moved to a farm near Concordia where she lived until 1982. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.  She belonged to the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 5649, AARP, she was a former member of Wagon Trail Chapter ABWA, Blue Ridge Singles, Tri-City Country Club and was also a Real Estate Agent. She retired in 1993 after working as a bookkeeper for 9 ½ years. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Douglas in 1976, brothers Darrell and Leslie and a sister, Marilyn.  She is survived by her three sons and wives Mike and Carol of Sweet Springs, Mo, Mark and Debbie of Oak Grove, Mo, and Mitch and Jami of Independence, Mo. Five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one step-grandchild.  Cremation. Private burial at St. John’s Cemetery in Emma, Mo. Memorials to St. John’s Cemetery Fund, Emma, Mo.
