Rowdy W. McDowell

Rowdy W. McDowell, 49, Belton, Missouri passed away June 1, 2017.  A visitation will be held 3:00 – 4:00 PM, Friday, June 9, 2017 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, Missouri.  A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM following the visition at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society.  A private burial will be held at a later date.

Rowdy was born March 22, 1968 in Mount Ayr, Iowa.  He graduated from Mount Ayr where he had many successes in wrestling and football. Rowdy served four years in the Air Force, where he was stationed in New Jersey and Germany.

He will be remembered for his love and pride of his sons, his great smile, quick wit and his fierce passion for people he cared for in his life.  Rowdy was proud of his family’s Iowa roots and often shared his great memories of his childhood on the farm.

Surviors include; sons, Maverick McDowell, Belton, Missouri, Logan McDowell, Belton, Missouri; mother, Becky McDowell, Belton, Missouri; father, Terry McDowell, Des Moines, Iowa; brother, Jeff McDowell, Phoenix, Arizona and many aunts, uncles, nieces and cousins.

    I’ve been flooded with memories from high school. Rowdy was always fun to be around. We became blood brother/sister when we were sophomores I believe.

    Deepest sympathies to Rowdy’s family and loved ones. I just saw of his passing today and am deeply saddened. I was stationed with Rowdy at McGuire AFB in NJ and was his suite mate. Rest in peace brother and blessings to all loved ones.

    I just found out a couple of days ago about Rowdy. I am sorry for your loss. I first met Rowdy when you guys lived in Greenfield, IA he was one of the good guys.

    Back when Rowdy was like 8 and i think I was 9 on recess I would of kids tease me and pick on.me and Rowdy would get them to quit
