Ruth Tuggle, 96, of Raytown, Missouri was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 22, 2024. She was a devoted wife, loving sister, mother and grandmother.
Ruth was born on October 10, 1927, in Labadie, Missouri. She graduated in 1945 from high school in California, Missouri and attended secretarial school in St. Louis. She worked as a secretary for the FAA in Kansas City, Missouri, for 10 years.
Ruth married Jess E. Tuggle on March 18, 1951, and was proud to be called a housewife while raising their 3 children – Steve Tuggle, Karen Tuggle; and Terry Tuggle, of Raytown, Missouri. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Jess in 1984, and her daughter Karen, in 2005.
Gwen Jeffries, a special friend and “adopted daughter”, has been a loving and caring friend to Ruth over 20 years. For the last 10 months Ruth was also blessed to have Algen Sigars as her devoted caregiver.
Ruth had 4 siblings: Reverend Bill Haub, passed away in 1977; June Forster who lives in Washington State along with her husband Fred; Ted Haub, passed away in 2017 and his wife Vicki; and Wayne Haub of Lee’s Summit along with his wife Shirley. Ruth’s sister-in law, Judy Tuggle, currently resides in Dallas, Texas. Ruth has one grandson, Josh Allen Tuggle, son of Karen plus 15 nieces and nephews.
Ruth was a devoted believer in her Savior, Jesus Christ. She faithfully attended church for 60 years at 1st Baptist Church in Raytown, Missouri, where she taught Sunday Church School, to elementary kids for 35 of those years. She had a passion for helping others within the church, as well as others who were a part of her life. She actively read and studied the Bible, which was the foundation of how she raised her family and lived her life. Her favorite Bible verse was John 3: 16. Ruth was an avid reader, always wanting people to get along with each other and was the peacekeeper and caregiver of her family. She was loved by everyone for her kind heart and willingness to help others.
Visitation for Ruth Tuggle will be Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 10:00am, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00am, at Heartland Cremation and Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, Missouri. My condolences to Terry and to his family and friends of Ruth. I did not get the chance to meet Ruth but Gwen spoke fondly of her. Ruth’s lovely picture definitely shows a sweet and caring disposition. May she rest in peace. 🙏 ❤️
