Sally Sue McKee

Sally S McKee, 75, Independence, MO died April 24, 2017. Funeral service will be held at 11am Friday, April 28, 2017 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, MO. Visitation will precede  the service 10-11 am.

Sally was born July 4, 1941, Sweet Springs, MO to Earl and Maude Templeton. Married Charles McKee in 1961 and worked over 30 years for the KC School District.

She was a humble and giving person. The phrase ‘food is love’ never rang truer. She was always cooking and baking cookies, cakes and breads for those around her. Ultimately, her family was her passion and you knew how much she loved you with her embrace.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, stepson Wesley McKee, sisters Flora Henderson and Anna May Dickerson and a brother Charles Templeton.

Survivors include daughters Annette (Charles) Chesnut, Melissa (Mel) Gates, sister Betty Surface, grandsons Anthony & Dustin and great grandsons Cole & Ian and 5 step grandchildren.

She will be missed more than she will ever know.

    Melissa my sister, I am truely sorry for your loss. Sally was special to all of us, we truely enjoyed getting to know her. She always had hugs for us all and her sweet beautiful smile was always there. Salky will be truely missed she was indeed part of our family.
