Sandra Lynn (Thompson) Ingram

Sandra Lynn (Thompson) Ingram, 47, passed away September 10, 2015 at home with her husband and one of her closest friends in Kansas City, MO after a long illness. She was born on June 28, 1968 in Springfield, MO, where she grew up and spent most of her life. She graduated from Drury University in 1995 with an Associate of Science Degree. She spent most of her career working for the City of Springfield in Building Development Services, where she had many wonderful friends and colleagues.

She met her future husband, Tyrone Ingram, in 1988 and they spent 27 incredible years together. They loved traveling and had many wonderful experiences and lived life to the fullest. She loved being a wife and was a true caretaker of all people and animals she knew. She enjoyed decorating the homes she shared with Tyrone and was happy to try new projects as they came along.

She is survived by her husband and her dearly loved cat Jasmine; her parents, Glen & Virginia Thompson; her brother, Marc and his family, May, Grace, Lilly, and Lucy; her mother-in-law Barbara Ingram; her friends Janice Stewart and Jill Recker; and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who are too numerous to mention.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Sandra’s life will be held on Friday, September 25, 2015 from 3:00-5:00 PM at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd. Raytown, MO.

Sandra, what can I say about her other than she was and is the best this world had to offer. When Sandra entered my life many, many years ago it was never the same it only got better. The understanding and compassion she showed to everyone will be greatly missed. I love her with all my heart. Sandra and Tyrone are soul mates and I loved seeing how they grew as individuals and as a couple. My heart and love go out to you and her family.

I will miss Sandra (Lisa Marie), and never forget her. How could I, it is a very rare thing in my experience to find a woman of such beauty, sweetness of spirit, and kindness of heart. To all of you to whom Sandra’s life was much more intertwined, my most heartfelt condolences.

I’ve known Sandra for over 30 yrs. We became friends our freshman year at Hillcrest. We did EVERYTHING together. She was one of the best friends a teen could have in high school.

I went into the Marine Corps and she stayed in Springfield. We spoke off and on through the years as I moved from place to place with my family. When I came back to MO in 2003, she was one of the first people I searched for on that Classmates website (back in the day). I was upset to hear that she was dealing with an illness. As most know, life gets you caught up and daily events leave little room for socializing. I wish I could’ve had more time, but that wasn’t the plan.

I will miss not knowing she’s still living this life as we know it, but I know there’s no pain; no suffering left for her in this place. Her youth and beauty will be missed, but her friendship even over miles will missed the most. My heart and prayers go out to Tyrone, Virginia, Glen and Marc. Blessings to you all.

Sandra was one of a kind there was nothing she wouldn’t do for anyone that knew her. I have been blessed to have had her in my life. We had so many memories of riding in the yellow Aries, going out of town together and us living together and her cooking my favorite dish(pork chops) and the many laughs at 3803. She and Tyrone had a love for each other that others wished they had. They lived for each other, words cannot express the loss I feel today for my nephew and our family.

If I had one word that comes to mind when I think of Sandra, it’s Classy. She is one of a kind and I’ve never known another lady who gleams with such confidence, beauty and class.
The friendship that Tyrone and she shared was undeniable and I think that everyone longs for a companionship that the two of them shared.
    Love you guys.

She may have looked like Priscilla and Lisa Marie, but she was far more special. Sandra was pretty, sweet, smart, and funny. I will never forget her smiling, zooming up on her scooter (I thought she was going to run us over) to greet us on the cruise. I wish we had many more cruises to take together. My deepest sympathy to Tyrone, Barbara, and all of Sandra’s family and friends. May your memories of Sandra comfort you in the days ahead.

My wonderful daughter-in-law, we are all suffering from the agony of losing you. How fortunate we were to have you in our family. You brought joy, happiness, fun, and laughter. We all loved you. Without love there would be no grief. The happy memories we have are worth our current pain. Gone too soon.

    Tyrone, family and friends…

I am so sorry for your loss, I just found out this sad news tonight.

    I can’t find words …

“There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are messengers of overwhelming grief…and unspeakable love.”
    ~ Washington Irving

    Love, Sandy
