Sandra L. Howard (Sandy), 60 of Independence, MO, passed away at her home on August 7, 2008. Sandy was born to Richard Stephenson and Beverly Loetterle on July 29,1948.
She was an avid nature lover and especially enjoyed birdwatching, fishing and gardening. She had a lifelong passion for cooking, owning and operating Harbor Lights Catering in Capistrano Bay, CA. She made the best pumpkin bread EVER. In her youth, she was a cheerleader for the K.C. Chiefs where she went to the first Superbowl. She is survived by her daughter, Kareston and husband Mark Carpenter of Independence; son, Dustin and wife Heather Blegstad of Kansas City; three grandchildren, Heather, Ashley and Mandi of Independence; one great grandchild, Jayden Bono of Independence and two brothers, Brett and Grant Hollis of San Diego, CA.
