Sarah A. Matthies passed away peacefully on October 22, 2023 at the age of 69. She was born in Lawrence, KS on Ocotber 9th, 1954, and lived in Maryland and Utah before moving back to Kansas for good in 1965.
Sarah graduated from Shawnee Mission East in 1974. She worked a number of jobs, but none that she loved as much as working with small children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Rosemary Matthies, brothers Greg and John Matthies, and brother-in-law Kirk Haner.
She leaves behind her sister Mariann Haner, brother Robert Matthies (Patty), 2 sisters-in-law Cathy Boutte and Diana Matthies, several nieces and nephews, and many friends. She will be buried in Fort Leavenworth with her parents.
