It is with great sadness that the family of Sarah Denise Van Dyke announces her passing after a long illness, on Friday, August 10 at the age of 65 at Wilshire at Lakewood in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
Denise will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Joyce Logston; daughter, Alyssa Sniezek (Jon); her adoring grandchildren, Dharma and Preston Van Dyke; siblings, Beth Wood (Sheldon), David Logston (Lana), Becky Klug (David), and Hayden Logston; ex-husband, Paul Van Dyke (Diana); nieces and nephews, Ian Wood, Blake Wood (Nichole), Jordan Logston (Kim), Hayley Klug, Alex Klug (Lilli), Lucas McNamara (Sabita), Jessica Bivin (Rodney), Danial Logston and Braelyn Logston. Denise will be missed by her grandnieces and grandnephews, Briston Wood, Taylor Wood, Eva Wood, Tanner Wood, Anna Wood, Cole Logston, McKenna Logston, Mia Logston, Ayden Bivin and Madisyn Bivin.
Denise was preceded in death by her father, Fred Logston and brother, Stuart Logston. Denise was a 1971 graduate of Raytown High School. She was the second to the oldest of six children to Fred and Joy Logston and resided in Independence, Buckner and Lee’s Summit, Missouri her entire life. She enjoyed going to the Lake of the Ozarks for vacations with her family and to Cannon Beach in Oregon to visit with her sister. But, most of all she loved being with her grandchildren, Dharma and Preston. They brought much joy and happiness to her life.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, August 19, 2018 from 3:00 – 5:00pm at the Gamber Community Center, 4 S.E. Independence Avenue, Lee’s Summit, MO 64063.
We’re sorry to hear of Denise’s passing, as we were classmates together with fond memories from our years at Raytown High School.

Denise was always such a sweetheart! Went to school with her in Baytown, and always looked forward to her gentle spirit in class. May God comfort her family.
