Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sharon Giro, a devoted mother, loving sister, loyal friend, and one of the most thoughtful women you could be blessed with to have in your life.
Born and raised in Independence, Sharon graduated from Northeast High School, Class of 1963. She went on to build a long and successful career, working 34 years at AT&T and another 15 years at DST. In recent years, she enjoyed working part-time at Costco, where she loved running into familiar faces and reconnecting with people from all walks of her life.
Above all else, her greatest joy and proudest accomplishments were her two children: her beloved son, Jamison, and her treasured daughter, Gina. Her love for them was unconditional and unwavering, and they, in turn, will forever remember her as their constant source of comfort, support, and strength.
Sharon is survived by her son Jamison and his partner Sierra Cordell, her daughter Gina, and son-in-law Travis Perry, her sister Sue Hocking, several nieces and nephews, and her lifelong BFF Sharon Campfield, who remained by her side through thick and thin. She now reunites in Heaven with her dearest friend, Meredith Shaw, a friendship that is truly eternal.
She lived her life with kindness, humor, and a loving heart. Those lucky enough to have known her will remember her infectious laugh, generous spirit, and how she made everyone feel special.
Her memory will live on in every kind word spoken, every laugh shared, and every act of love inspired by her beautiful soul.
Celebration of life will be at V’s Italian Restaurant on 40 HWY
July 19th 12:30pm-3:30pm
Service at 1:20pm
Hors d’oeuvres served at approximately 1:40pm
In lieu of flowers, Sharon requests donations to St. Jude or a place of your choice.
Sharon will remain in my heart as a loving friend forever. Her beautiful spirit will be missed from her place that she left empty on earth, but has brighten the heavens above.
We were going to have lunch😢…. At least I was able to send a card & we texted and that has helped me try to accept that Sharon is no longer suffering and is with her loved ones in heaven 🙏🏻, may she rest in peace 🕊️❣️

Sharon was a wonderful person whose presence brightened the lives of many. She will be remembered with great fondness and respect. My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time.
My most sincere sympathy to Gina and Jamie at this time of loss. She was so proud of you both. Your Mother was so special. She was my lifetime friend, and I will miss her more than words can even express.
Sharon was always kind and sweet … I felt a connection with her. I was glad I got to speak with her before she passed away. I imagine many people felt a connection with her
Well Sharon you’re probably up in heaven playing cards every week with some of your friends.
You’re at peace now
Sharon was my best friend for 55 years. When I hired on at AT&T she was my first boss. I was nervous and she broke me in slowly. I fell in love with her very quickly. She was a Christian and there is no doubt that she is in Heaven in the loving arms of Jesus. She was pure class. Meredith and her were inseparable at work. I adored her. I am a better person for knowing her!
I will stay available for her children forever. I KNOW her death on earth is. The beginning of a new everlasting life in Heaven. Thanks, my friend, for the memories. 🙏
