Sharon Gordon

Sharon Gordon, 78, of Independence, Mo passed away June 18, 2018. A memorial service will be held from 10:00Am-12:00pm, Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd Raytown, Mo 64133. Ms. Gordon was born February 2, 1940 in Chillicothe, Mo.

Sharon met and later married Lynn R. Gordon on July 20, 1962 at Central Christian Church, Kansas City, Mo. Sharon and Lynn attended Evangelist Center Church in Kansas City, Mo for over 40 years. They enjoyed teaching the children about God as Sunday School teachers. Sharon particularly enjoyed leading Children’s Ministry where she incorporated puppetry and dressing as Possey the Clown. She was also a great Campfire Girl Leader taking her troop on amazing adventures. She called herself a “Jack of All Trades” and “Master of None.” Sharon enjoyed creating floral arrangements and each year made the pastor’s wives a corsage for Convention.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lynn Gordon, parents Marion and Denzil Cooper, two brothers Ruban and Denzil Cooper, and two sisters Delaine Cosgrove and Nancy Schiskie.

Survivors include her daughter Estelle Johnson, three grandchildren; Kyle (Lacey) Johnson, Renae (Tony) Ingrassia, and Robert Johnson III, 6 great grandchildren; Dylan, Nevaeh, Collin, Jordan, Landon, and Ellie Jean, and sisters; Patricia Bivens, Cheryl Johnson, and Donna May Smith.
