Sheila Wright

Sheila Marie Wright, 63, of Garden City, Missouri, passed away January 20, 2023.

Services for Sheila will be Saturday February 4, 2023, at Heartland Cremation and Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd. Raytown, MO 64133. A Social Gathering will be held from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Her Memorial Service will follow starting at 11:00 AM.

Sheila or “SheShe” as she was affectionately known – was born September 30, 1959, in Bourne, Massachusetts, to parents James and Cyndora Jones. She was 1 of 9 children and a graduate of Grandview High School. After high school she married and became a homemaker. Soon after she was blessed with two sons, Kevin and Jesse Wright. Shelia had many loves in life, her sons and grandson being first, followed by the Kansas City Chiefs as a close 2nd. She might have said she was their biggest fan in Kansas City, or even in the whole world. Win or lose, they were HER team. Sheila never met a stranger. You could say her motto was, “Once a friend, always a friend.” She had a big heart, a strong laugh, a beautiful smile and a playful spirit. Sheila would always be game for shenanigans, dressing up or telling jokes…and the jokes were always followed by a chuckle. Sheila had a passion for crossword puzzles, brain teasers and games. She will be dearly missed and will live in our hearts forever.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Stephen and David Jones.

She is survived by her loving sons Kevin Wright, Jesse Wright, grandson Chandler Wright, sisters Connie (Frank) Ramirez, Sheree (John) La Plante, Patty (Jimmy) Scheier. brothers Daniel (Roberta) Jones, Terry (Pam) Jones, Greg (Gail) Jones, and many nieces, nephews, loving friends and her Partner, Mike Venneman.

“Fly high, as now you have wings.”

Sheila and I were friends at Martin City elementary school and we lived in the same neighborhood. She was always such a fun, happy girl with so much personality! She was always so pretty too! We haven’t seen each other in many years but I would recognize that smile! My sympathies to her entire family
