Shirley Ann Rothenheber

Shirley Ann Rothenheber, 83, died peacefully at Boone County Hospital in Columbia, MO on Monday February 17, 2014.

Shirley was born in Troy, NY on March 9th, 1930 to James and Gertrude MacAllister. Shirley inherited her father’s beautiful blue eyes and her mothers love of family. She  graduated from Lansingburgh High School in 1948 and worked as a secretary for many years around the New York area and in Maui. Shirley married Paul J. Rothenheber on July 9, 1949, and they spent 64 wonderful years together.

Shirley loved playing cards and was as excellent piano player and singer. She and her husband Paul loved to travel and experience new places and cultures. She was a kind and loving person and loved by all who knew her.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Paul of Columbia, MO, daughter, Linda M. Rothenheber and her life-long partner Kathi Monahan, Florence, Oregon, son, Paul S. Rothenheber and his wife Mary of Columbia, MO, sister, Joyce MacAllister of Waterford, N.Y., and grandchildren and their families: Michelle (Rothenheber) Maxwell and  Troy of Alexander, N.D., Michael Rothenheber and his daughter Madison, Fargo, N.D., Max and Julie Lazinger and their children Sean, Matthew, Maayan and Ari of Columbia, MO, and Mike and Tina Steffenson and their children Kale, Ashley, and Emily of  Beulah, N.D .

Shirley was preceded in death by her mother and father. Her family and friends are encouraged to celebrate her life as she did with vigor and a sense of humor.
