Shirley M. Jefferson

Shirley Malinda Jefferson was born June 28, 1949, to Eddie and Fannie Parker/Musgrove in Vian, Oklahoma. She was the youngest of ten children. Shirley graduated from Northeastern State College and UMKC with a BA in Psychology. She worked over 20 years with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, where she then worked for the Kansas City Zoo for over 10 years. She was a member of St. Stephen’s Baptist Church and then became a member of the Concord Fortress of Hope Church. Shirley enjoyed conducting the Bible studies at her retirement center.

She leaves behind two sons, Derek Jefferson and Damon Jefferson and his family; sister Bettey Blackmon; and brother Elmer Parker-Musgrove. Many other siblings have proceeded her in her homecoming.

She will be truly missed by many relatives and friends who loved her deeply.

Visitation will be 10am, Friday, May 2, 2025, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11am, at Heartland Cremation and Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, Missouri 64133.
