Sidney P. Westmoreland

Sidney P. Westmoreland, 55, KCMO, passed away May 3, 2014. A visitation will be held at 1 PM, Thurs. May 15, 2014 at Heartland, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd., Raytown, MO 64133, with a funeral service to follow at 2 PM. Sidney was born July 3, 1958 to Arlene and Elmer Westmoreland in Chicago, Ill. Sidney attended Dewey Elementary and Tildon High School in Chicago. He later went to the Army Reserves. He enjoyed life, especially time with family and friends. He liked bar-b-queing, dominoes, chess and fishing. Sidney worked various jobs here in Kansas City, including the Troost car wash, Meals on Wheels, and the census bureau. Preceding him in death are his mother Arlene Westmoreland, father Elmer Westmoreland, grandmother and grandfather Rosie B. and Leroy Dancy, sisters; Lillian Westmoreland and Geralda Stroter and a brother Tony Westmoreland. Sidney leaves to cherish a brother James Westmoreland of Chicago, sisters; Janice Westmoreland of Chicago, Evelyn Reed and Wendy Westmoreland of Detroit, longtime special friend Helen Phillips, companion Marshell Brooks, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
