My uncle Herb was the pride and joy of myself, and my four brothers; all nephews, and sons of Herb’s sister Mary Louise Sass. He was a war hero who my grandmother Thelma often spoke of in the most glowing terms. To me he was in a lineage of the proud Sass family. His relatives helped build his hometown of Willow Springs, Mo. He was the standard for myself, and my brothers in terms of his bravery, honor and dedication to family and this glorious country. From me, Buddy, Chuck, Pat, Matt and our individual spouses we are sad and grieve for the entire Sass family but notably for Larry, Chris, and Tracy who we hold dear in our hearts.

Hi grandpa, a little hummingbird flew straight to my face and hovered in place for about 4 seconds, then flew away. The sun made his feathers glow red, green then blue. I was just thinking of you while gardening. Thank you for visiting me. I hope you and grandma are having an awesome time. Love your granddaughter, Angi
