Sonia Lynn Clogston

Sonia Clogston, 45, Blue Springs, MO passed away July 8, 2011. Sonia is survived by her parents Gloria and Don Williams, 2 sons Ryan Clogston and Jackson Blauw, 2 sisters Tina Williams and Dawn Kleoppel, 3 nephews and a niece. Visitation will be held Tuesday July 12, from 6-7:30 PM at Heartland Cremation, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd., Raytown, MO 64133.  A funeral service will be held Wednesday July 13, at 10:30 AM at Woods Chapel United Methodist Church, 4725 NE Lakewood Way, Lee’s Summit, MO 64064.  Interment will follow the service at Mt. Washington Cemetery in Independence. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family for expenses.      Sonia was born and raised in Blue Springs, Missouri.  She graduated Blue Springs High School in 1984. She was blessed with two strong healthy boys named Ryan Lee and Jackson Pierce. As a mother, Sonia supported her boys in all of their endeavors. She was their biggest cheerleader and confidant. They have been and will always be her pride and joy.      Sonia spent her life in service to others.  While employed with Jackson County Family Services, she was generous with her time and her heart.  She has made a difference in the lives of countless children.      Sonia had a quick smile and a fierce sense of fashion. Pink was her signature and she knew how to accessorize. No matter what the ensemble, she was fabulous.  Never a hair out of place. She knew how to make an entrance.      Sonia left us too early. Her wish for us is to continue giving love to others. Share our passion for life with those we love.  Appreciate everyday we share with our family and friends.  Always take the opportunity to tell someone you love them.

My thoughts and prayers are with Jackson and Sonia’s entire family. Sonia was one of the best at not only being a mother, but also a daughter and aunt. She cared for others more than herself. I will miss her smile and caring attitude very much.

Sonia will be greatly missed. She was my sorority sister, we were in the same chapter for a short time, I was fortunate that she had come into my life, even if it was for a short time. She always had a smile, enjoying life when I seen her, always helping and giving of her time and knowledge. Her family is in my thoughts and prayers.
