Stella Marie Harper Patrick Gundelfinger

Stella Marie Harper Patrick Gundelfinger
May 20, 1940 – January 4, 2024

Stella Marie (Harper) Gundelfinger passed away peacefully on Friday, January 4, 2024. Her family was her everything, and her love extended to her support network, which she held close to her heart. She is survived by Ralph Gundelfinger, her husband of 35 years.

Stella went to Bishop Ward High School and studied business administration at Avila University.

Prior to retirement, Stella was a Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist with SMG Investments and had a long career as a personal wealth manager in the Kansas City area. She was a member of the Kansas City Symphony Guild, and a true-blue Royals fan.

Ad astra per aspera… Stella’s stars aligned, and she found her happiness in caring for and doting on her husband, Ralph Gundelfinger, and her everlasting devotion to her deceased children Christa Lynn Patrick and Kevin Paul Patrick. Beloved family members include Mary Kathleen (Kathy) O’Brien Patrick and granddaughters Mackenzie Anne Patrick and Megan Marie Patrick.

Stella deeply loved spending time with Ralph outside on their deck. In the spring each year, she delighted in selecting flowering plants with her daughter Christa, who would help her plant them. She also loved to shop. After retirement, Stella stayed active with part time retail positions: she dearly loved a bargain and helping her family feather their nests with just the right details.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Guy Harper. Left to hold dear her memory is her cherished husband Ralph, brother John Harper and wife Julie, and nephew Kelly Harper and niece Denise Skrljac and husband Tom and great nieces and nephews Cassie, Joey, Elizabeth and Matt.

Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 24th at 11:00am at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 12800 W. 75th St, Shawnee, KS. The visitation will begin at 10:00am prior to the Mass.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions in her name be directed to Great Plains SPCA, at donations@greatplainsspca.org.
