Steven Apostle, 74, of Kansas City, KS, passed away on August 15, 2022. A Celebration of Life for Steve will be held from 2-4pm on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society in Raytown, MO.

Steve was born on August 18, 1947, in Kansas City, KS. He was a police officer most of his adult life. He loved serving his community and found much joy in making others laugh, as well as, seeing his children thrive. He loved all forms of entertainment to include movies, music, dancing, and amusement parks.

Steve is survived by his five children; Bill, Mike, Christina, Mary, and Kate; and his nine grandchildren; Joey, Ellynn, Noah, Molly, Brady, Natalie, Eliot, Hope, and Hannah.

    Steve was instrumental in my law enforcement career, I owed him. I also learned so many things never taught in the academy from him, some of which I still follow to his day. Steve had his own way of doing some things sometimes, but he was always there for you – always. Thanks Greek.

    A wonderful man I knew when I was in high school and recently became reacquainted with through facebook. I knew him through my acquaintance in the marching band at Wyandotte High School. A fervent lover of Wyandotte High School. Thank you for the memories, Steve! Wyandotte Forever, my fellow bandsman and friend!

    Great friend from jr and high school more. Wish I had been able to reconnect. Thought of him often and happy he was able to fulfill he law enforcement dreams

    I have been trying to find the words for weeks. Steve was my Teacher, Mentor, Older Brother, Best Friend, my Backup, and so much more for many years! He saved me and I saved him several times each. I still teach many of the things about police work like how to relate and emphasize with people in crisis, and to treat people with respect and compassion even when you are arresting them, and that it doesn’t cost you anything to try to make what is probably their worst day just a little bit better. Those are important lessons that should be taught in the Academy but aren’t. Take a well deserved rest Steve, we will take it from here!

    Steven I haven’t thought about you for a long time. Back in the mid-1980s you and your high school friend Edward David King took a train trip to New Orleans. We had a lot of fun. So sorry to hear about your passing. Your high school friend Edward David King passed away in 2018. George Nodler
