Steven Preston Burton

Steven Preston Burton 59, of Independence Mo passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2020 at Saint Luke’s Hospice House of Kansas City.

Steve was the son of the late Donald and Mary E. Burton.

He leaves behind one brother, Jack Burton, and six sisters, Elaine Selemaea, Barbara Adams, Helen Wright, Pam Hunsucker, Marcia (Dee Dee) Ingold, all of Independence, MO and Brenda Morris of Seattle, WA. Steve also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and his cat named Feet’s whom he loved a lot.

Steve loved music and to play his drums. He was a hard worker, and a very loving, caring, person who was loved by many. Special thanks to his niece Sherry Burton for being with him in his final hours.

Thanks to all at Saint Luke’s Hospice House for the care they gave him.

A memorial service will be held at a later date

    I never had much time with Steve, but I do remember him when he was a young boy. He will be sadly missed by friends and family. He is now resting with his Mom and Dad in Heaven. God bless Steve. Your cousin, Joe Davenport

    Rest in peace uncle Steve. You fought a good fight but your body was just tired.
    You were such a kind hearted man. I was glad I got to spend the time with you in your final days to let you know you were very loved by many and you were not going through this alone. I love you, rest easy until we meet again.

    We will miss u around to laugh with u listen to music ad take pics ad eat holiday meals with but we are so glad we got to to be with you as much as we could ad wish we could of been able to visit u at the housptial it breaks are heart to lose u we loved love smirl family.

    I am so very Sorry to hear about Steve, Needless to say Socked, I had known him most of my life, he was like a (BROTHER) TO ME, we spent many times together. My Prayers go out to Steve, and all his Siblings. I have not seen him for better then (30) yrs. And I truly regret that, Man, could i tell ya some TRUE stories.It’s always so heart breaking to hear such sad news as that. He will be missed, I will miss him, he was a good guy, with a good heart! REST IN PEACE MY BROTHER, REST IN PEACE!
