Susan Gurera, 73 of Blue Springs, Missouri passed away September 7th, 2017 at her home with her loved ones by her side. A visitation will be held 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Monday, September 11, 2017 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, Missouri. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society. Burial in Mt Olivet Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri. Contributions may be made to Great Lakes Hospice.
Susan was born July 13, 1944 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was a loving mother who was devoted to raising her eleven children. Susan is preceded in death by: daughters, Anne and Elizabeth Gurera; her parents, Wilbur & Juanita Gehrt and two sisters, Christine and Roberta.
She is survived by: son & daughter-in-law; Joe & Pam Gurera; daughter, Nancy Brandon; sons & daughters-in-law, Paul & Karen Gurera, Mark & Kristina Gurera, William & Kelly Gurera; daughter, Veronica Martin; daughter & son-in-law, Angela & Val Weaver; daughter, Mary Gurera; daughter & son-in-law, Sarah & Homer Shay; sister & brother-in-law, JoAnn & Lloyd Fulton; ex-husband, Carl Gurera; nineteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.

She was a second mother to Me for sure when growing up. She was so loving and excepting. That smile and laugh our contagious she will never be forgotten

Susan was like a second mom to me when I was in grade school and was always sweet and kind to everyone even when she knew her time with us was growing short. I will miss your a lot. She raised a great family that I will keep close to my heart ??

Some of my most fond memories as a child was coming over to your house and swimming and hanging out with all my cousins! So thankful you all were so available to open your house up to more kids! We are very sorry we won’t be able to attend the services but please know we are holding you all up in our thoughts and prayers!

Praying the Lord’s comfort as you go through the loneliness of grieving your mom, grandma, sister, friend. No loss quite like the feeling of not being able to go “home” to mom.
Mark I loved your mom. She was a wonderful person and I am so thankful for all the wonderful memories I have growing up with all of you! I remember swimming in the summer time and all the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches she made for us kids. I can hear her laugh as if it were yesterday. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
