Terry Hayward Talbert, 82, longtime resident of Kansas City, passed away peacefully at home on June 12, 2025.
Terry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Celia Ann Talbert of 59.5 years, and his son, Steven Joseph Talbert. Terry is survived by his children: Michael Talbert, Carolyn Talbert and Dianna Laird; as well as 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride.
Terry proudly served as a mail carrier for 39 years, known for his dedication, reliability, and kind spirit. Terry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who loved his family deeply and always had a story to share.
Terry enjoyed the Tric Tracker square dance club, the casino, and taking vacations such as Hawaii. He also loved to spend his time relaxing outdoors at the lake on the boat, fishing, and taking long walks.
Terry will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, his deep love for family, and his strength. With bright blue eyes and a smile for everyone and a heart full of love, he leaves behind a legacy of kindness and care that will live on in all who knew him.
A public funeral service will be held on Monday, June 23, 2025 from 10:00am-12:00pm, at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd. Raytown, MO 64133. The service will be followed by burial at Floral Hills Cemetery at noon.
He was good ole boy I work with at Raytown Post Office. if they were easy and hard way to carry mail, he did the hard way I like to do it the easy lazy way, but we always got alone.
