Thomas Carlson

Thomas L. Carlson, 82, of Independence, MO (formerly of San Diego, CA) passed away Sunday, March 5, 2006. Tom (also known as Tim to many friends) was born December 26, 1923 in Detroit, Michigan. He attended Graceland College, served in the Army in WWII, and then began a successful career in the business world in the areas of accounting, insurance, and finance. He was a life long member of the Community of Christ Church, currently attending the Ridgewood Congregation where he served in the priesthood office of High Priest. Tom was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Phyllis, who died in 1993. He is survived by his five children, Dee Brandt (husband Jeff) of Blue Springs, Tom Carlson (wife Nancy) of Kansas City, Bill Carlson (wife Joyce) of Riverside, CA, Susan Jones (husband Russ) of Independence, and Rick Carlson (wife Diane) of Mission Viejo, CA; 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; and a brother David Stuart Carlson of Tucson, AZ. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
