Thomas Morton, 51, Independence, MO, passed away Nov. 25, 2009. Visitation will be held 12-2 PM on Tuesday Dec. 1, at Heartland Cremation and Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, MO 64133. A funeral service will follow visitation at 2. Graveside services will follow at Blue Springs Cemetery. Thomas was a passionate man, passionate about fishing, his work as a steelworker and a truck driver before that, his cars, and his boat, but most of all he was passionate about his family, his parents, children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, and all his extended family, but most of all, he was passionate about his wife, Christine, whom he loved unconditionally and without question. Thomas was preceded in death by his father, Troy Morton in 1977, and his beloved dog, Cuka, earlier this year. He is survived by his wife, Christine of the home, his mother Bettie Davis of Tonganoxie, KS, four children; Michelle Hardesty of Odessa, MO, Jennifer Steele, of Lee’s Summit, MO, Benjamin Morton of Independence, MO and Thomas Morton also of Independence, grandchildren; Justice, Liberty, Ashlyn, Garrett, and Eryn. Also surviving Thomas are siblings; Sandra K. Morrison, Patsy S. Duarte, Richard N. Morton, David T. Morton, Debra C. Petree, and Michael L. Morton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Thomas Morton Fund, at any Metcalf bank. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Crossroads Hospice.

My beautiful baby brother with blond ringlet curls is a vivid memory that is making me smile right now. I am so fortunate to have Tom as a brother…so sweet and loving to his large family. I will forever love and miss him.
