Tom graduated from Tina-Avalon High School and embarked on a wheat harvest journey across several states before enlisting in the United States Navy. From December 28, 1962, to December 27, 1968, he served with distinction. His final duty assignment was with the U.S. Naval Mobile Construction Battalion Ten in Danang, Vietnam. Tom also found joy in delivering pizzas for Pizza Hut for many years.
Tom’s life was deeply rooted in faith. He faithfully attended and served at The Life Church of Kansas City, where his energy and enthusiasm left a lasting impression on those around him. A devoted student of the Bible, he loved to read scripture and share it with others. Whether through handwritten letters or spoken words of encouragement, Tom had a gift for uplifting those around him.
He was known for his stories and for his generous spirit. Tom had a heart of gold and the heart of a giver. He loved creating memories with his family by traveling, fishing, hunting, baseball games, and local festivals.

The first time I met Tom and his wife Sally was in 1987 right before we got married. My husband was very fond of Tom and he told me there was thing we must do before we got married. He then took me to Tom and Sally’s house and we had a grand time visiting and listening to his always exciting stories about what the Lord had done for him. The day we married there was a snow storm. The Clarksons and their two young children came and we were so honored. It is an honor to be associated with Tom and Sally.
With many fond memories.
To the Clarkson family. We will see you soon and will be praying until then.
