I did not know him long, however I enjoyed the time we had. He was a good man and a great neighbor.
I will miss him.
Dear Julia and family.
I am so sorry to read of your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
I am very sorry to read today that Tom died recently. We knew each other at the University of Northern Iowa, and worked on one project. After that, he always said “hello” and talked when we ran into each other on campus and around town. He was truly a good person who will be missed. Sending condolences and sympathy to his family and friends.
I am so sorry for your loss. I enjoyed getting to know Tom through tennis with Julia. He was a great cheerleader/supporter for Julia and her teams. He will be missed by all who knew him.
I have been thinking a lot about you and your family. Always enjoyed seeing Tom and chatting with him at tennis. So sorry for your loss. Lots of love.
Julia
I’m so sorry to hear the sad news about Tom. He was a caring energetic insightful man. I was so pleased to get to know him and enjoy your company.
My prayers for you and your family.
Julia:
So very sad to read of Tom’s death. I got to know Tom during the Sartori Hospital affiliation and learned what a kind and compassionate man he was. Holding you and your family in my heart at this sad time. May memories of happy times together bring you comfort.
With deepest sympathy,
Beth Knipp
Tom was a very special person. He & Kay were our first friends in the neighborhood when we lived in Cedar Falls & her & I were Girl Scout leaders together. Our children went to school & grew up together. He was always a caring, dear friend, & there for our girls guiding them as they made choices about their future careers while at UNI.
Although we have lost touch & moved to different cities, he & his family remain in our thoughts & prayers.
With deepest sympathy for your loss.

I had the wonderful opportunity to work under Dr. Romanin when I was a graduate student at the University of Northern Iowa in the mid-80’s. He was kind, helpful and so willing to share his knowledge. I learned so much from him. I am so sorry to read of his passing and extend my sympathy to his family.
Thoughts and prayers to you and your family, Julia. So sorry for your loss.
Love and sympathy, Maryanne Loscalzo
I am very sad to hear of Tom’s passing.
We were woodworking friends at the Woodworkers Guild. We worked together on several projects and often conferred on his personal projects. I will miss him.
I extend my condolences.
Tom was an awesome human being, neighbor and friend who always offered a smile and thoughtful conversation. He is already missed!
We have lost a very classy, erudite neighbor. Our friendship was at the blossoming stage as I hadn’t known Tom as long as many of you. However, I cherished our talks and the time we got to spend together – it was often special. I was not prepared for his leaving and am very sad. I want Julia to know that we also cherish her and share in her grief. God bless.
I did not know Tom for as long as I wished. After his diagnosis, he and I shared coffee several times. He faced his circumstances the way he faced all of life – head on. He was and is a classy person. His legacy is special. My deepest condolences to Julia and the entire family.
Jennifer (Jenny to me), I’m so sorry you lost your dad, too. I remember you very well, and I do remember your parents. You, as well as your kids, are too young to have lost those relationships. I’m sure you’ve already learned that they will live on in great memories.
Dear Julia, I was stunned to see Tom’s obituary in the Courier. So many memories of his excellence as a colleague at UNI, and all the ongoing support Tom gave me during the College Hill Arts Festival.
My heart goes out to you, and the family,
Judy
