Toni Lee Preston, age 70, of Holden, Missouri, died April 19, 2020. Toni’s death was due to the effects of long-term lung disease. She passed away in her home about ten miles south of Holden. She moved south of Kansas City in 1996 to enjoy country living. During her working life, she worked in various manufacturing jobs and for Temporary Electrical Service installing temporary electrical access to construction sites. She also worked in horse stables and was involved in training horses. In more recent years she bred polydactyl cats and developed a website to sell them online. She retired on disability more than ten years ago.
Toni loved all kinds of animals, especially cats and horses. She enjoyed horseback riding, hunting, camping, and being in nature. She also liked playing pool and enjoyed being in a pool league. She collected rocks, fossils, and semi-precious gems. She enjoyed researching stones she found in nature and had an extensive rock collection she treasured.
Toni is preceded in death by her mother, B. C. Hatfield, her brother, David Lee Preston, and her infant son Colton, who died of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome in 1972.
Survivors include her long-time partner and companion, Connie Preston, her niece Dana Collen Preston, and her half-brother, Edward Charles Preston, Jr.
A private graveside memorial will take place in Adrian, Missouri at a later date.
Memorial contributions can be made to Best Friends Animal Society at bestfriends.org.
