Tony Lee Darnell

Tony Lee Darnell, aged 56, of Independence, MO, passed away on November 2, 2024. He was born on September 19, 1968, to Carol Dudley and the late Warren Darnell. His step-father William Dudley also preceded him in death.

Tony graduated from William Chrisman High School and furthered his education at Southwest Baptist University and Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He dedicated his life to serving others, pastoring several churches across Missouri, and sharing his faith as a missionary in Togo, West Africa from 2002 to 2010. Additionally, Tony imparted his knowledge to students as an adjunct professor at Rockhurst University.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marlene; son, Logan; daughter, Elizabeth of Saint Louis, MO; and his mother, Carol Dudley of Independence, MO. Tony was a member of The Road Church of Grain Valley, MO, where he enjoyed participating in various community and spiritual activities.

Tony had a creative and inventive spirit, enjoying hobbies such as jewelry making, metal smithing, gardening, and 3D printing. These activities brought great joy to his life and those around him.

Services to celebrate Tony’s life will be held on Thursday morning, November 7, at The Road Church in Grain Valley, MO. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Plaza Heights Christian Academy in Blue Springs, MO. Donations can be made online at https://plazaheightschristianacademy.org/donate/. Tony’s legacy will continue through the many lives he touched with his compassion and dedication.

    Marlene, We were saddened to hear of Tony’s recent passing. We have been blessed to serve alongside you both in West Africa and always enjoyed our time and visits with you and your family.
