Tyree Davis, Jr.

Tyree Davis Jr. passed away peacefully December 20, 2020. Tyree was born June 6, 1949 to Tyree Davis Sr. and Eileen Davis in Kansas City, Kansas.

Tyree received his education in Kansas City, Missouri public schools. Tyree was born and raised in the Kansas City, Missouri and grew his family and career there. Tyree valued hard work and responsibility. He worked in the grocery business and worked his way up to produce manager for the remainder of his career. Tyree didn’t know a stranger and loved to get to know and talk to people. Known to many “Sonny,” “Tank,” “Daddy,” “Papa,” “Uncle Tyree”, or simply “Tyree.” Tyree will be greatly missed by many.

Tyree was preceded in death by his grandmother; Lucille Medley-Hill; parents; Tyree Davis, Sr. and Eileen Davis; two brothers: Dale Davis and Michael Davis; his precious daughter: Sparkle Mosley, grandson: Devin Harris; his long-term partner: Johnetta Watts.

Tyree leaves behind to cherish his memory and carry his legacy; wife: Sheron Davis of Kansas City, MO, two daughters: LaTicia Davis of Kansas City, MO, and Monica Garner (Milton) of Dallas, TX; two sons: Tyree Davis III and Jarmar Harris both of Kansas City, MO; 5 siblings: Ernest Smith (Janice), Shirley Davis-Adams, Johnell Davis, Ricky Davis (Jackie), all of Kansas City, MO and Linda Galberth (Russell) of Jacksonville, FL; best friend Bobby Houston; 13 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

A visitation will be held from 10-11 AM, Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Heartland, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd., Raytown, Mo 64133.  The Funeral service will begin at 11 AM. The service can be viewed online by following this link Tyree Davis, Jr. Service

    My thoughts and prayers are with my family, during this time of great loss. Uncle Tyree would always have a beautiful smile when he said my name, “Ouida Jean”.     My favorite uncle, may you rest in peace. Everybody loved them some Uncle Tyree and he loved us back. He was a beautiful soul and had the biggest and nicest smile anytime you saw him. He will forever be remembered in our hearts.
