Van Sigman

Van G. Sigman died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on July 18 at 6:10. Van was born Nov. 8, 1918 to Liza & Minor Sigman of Marshall, MO. He earned a B.S. in Ed. At Mo. Valley College in Marshall, MO and a Master Degree at C.M.S.U. Warrensburg, MO. He was a high school teacher for 30 years in Raytown. He retired in 1982. Van married Virginia Borchers of Blackburn, MO on Nov. 24, 1955, who survives him. Van?s survivors are four children, Scott and Laurie Sigman , Belton; Vanessa and Brian Richardson; Sheila and Chuck Blaschke; Steve and Kathy Sigman, St. Louis. Also 10 grandkids, Chaz Blaschke, Alexa Blaschke, Kyle Richardson, Lauren Richardson, Jessica Sigman, Cassie Sigman, Emily Sigman, Mike Schubert, Jessica Schubert, & Laura Schubert. Van?s favorite hobby was gardening, and he had a frame shop in his home. He loved growing his prize tomatoes and giving them away. Van enjoyed traveling with his camp club, the Raytown Road Runners. Van was a W.W. II veteran, with the rank of Sergeant. The high light of his life was when he went to Washington D.C. to the dedication of the W.W. II Memorial. The trip was a gift from his daughters. He will be greatly missed by his family & friends. Services will be July 23, visitation 12-1pm service 1pm. Memorial contributions can be made to L.S.
