Hello, my name is Chris Stavig, my wife Sharon and I have been coming to the Hidden Lake Nursing facility for many years having a Bible Study every Wednesday night at 7:00. Velda has been a regular attender for many years, Velda has always been such a blessing to us and the other members of our group. Velda always helped get the area ready before we came and she usually knew who was sick and who would or wouldn’t be making it. Velda will be greatly missed. Even though she will be missed here upon this earth, she is now rejoicing with the Lord in Heaven. For those of us who put our faith in trust and Jesus finished work on the cross, we will see Velda again in Heaven, we wish all the family our best. May God truly bless and comfort you at this time.

Greetings. I am Michelle Ruttinger-LeDoux. Youngest daughter of Sue Hill who resided at Hidden Lake, next door to Velda. She always shared the dining table with my mom. Such a lovely and amazing woman who was so kind to mom and made everyone feel welcome. Thank you Velda and my thoughts and prayers to her family and friends.

Velda and husband Al were long-time friends of my parents, Floyd and Frances Dickson, who also attended Blue Ridge United Methodist Church. I have enjoyed phone conversations and cards with Velda since my parents passed. Velda was a wonderful lady and a great friend.

Remembering a dear friend our Mom and Dad who became a good friend to me. After Mom passed we began to communicate more and I enjoyed monthly letters and occasional phone calls.
She was always upbeat and she rarely talked about her health but about the good thing that were going on around her. She Loved her Bible Study and she enjoyed her friends at Hidden Lake.
Velda will be missed God Bless!
