Victor E. Stoll, 88, Raytown, MO passed away February 2, 2009. Visitation will be held 10-11 AM, Saturday, February 7, 2009 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, MO. A Celebration of his life will be held 11 AM following the visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Raytown Arts Council, 6800 Proctor, KC, MO 64133, or HOCA, Boy Scouts of America, 10210 Holmes Rd, KC, MO 64131.
Victor was born July 3, 1920 in Kansas City, MO. He graduated from Paseo HS, and attended MU, University of Flordia, and the Kansas City Art Institute. After being inducted in the US Army in Washington D.C., Victor was sent for Army Air Corps training at the University of Florida, flight training school. The week prior to receiving his wings, the entire class was transferred to the infantry due to the sudden demand for foot soldiers for deployment with Army Co, 3rd Battalion. In Jan 1945 they arrived in Le Havre, France (Camp Lucky Strike) and entered combat in March 1945. His division’s campaigns were in France, Austria, and Germany, during his 55 days of hand-to-hand combat. Before receiving his honorable discharge on Feb 1, 1946, Victor endured a storm filled, 21 day trip across the Atlantic. He was awarded two Bronze Stars for campaigns in the Rhineland and Central Europe, the Combat Infantry Badge and the Good Conduct Medal.
Victor worked for the VA and CAA and retired from the National Weather Service in 1981 following a 40 year career, where he served as the Budget and Financial Officer. He was a lifetime member of the Eastgate Masonic Lodge, earned his Eagle Scout honors in 1936 and was a Warrior in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say (tribal name-Warrior Friendly Sky).
Survivors include; wife of 62 years, Alyse (Aiman) Stoll, of the home; sons and daughters in law, Randy & Laura Stoll, Rolla, MO, Ed & Jan Stoll, Lee’s Summit, MO; grandchildren, Allison, Erin, Kaylyn, Rolla, MO, Lt. V. Miller, Gretchen, and Hunter, Lee’s Summit, MO; sister Clarice Davis, Huntsville, AL; sister and brother in law, Mary Kay & Dr. E. Harlin Staires, Sun City, AZ. Victor will be remembered for his unique sense of humor and will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. (arr. Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 816-313-1677)

I’m sorry for your loss. Although I didn’t know your father after reading the obituaries it was apparent he was a hero to this country in many ways. Denice and I will are praying for you and your family in this time of loss.
