Vincent Porfidio Castro

He loved his wife and his children & provided for them by working long hours. He enjoyed spending time with his brothers and sisters and all his friends, kids and grandkids and his two dogs Rocky and Reginald. He loved fast pitch and slow pitch and having a cold beer with the guys afterwards was his favorite thing to do on a Wednesday night league. He loved playing pool & he was definitely great at it, along with Backgammon, Chinese Checkers, Croquet & anything that was a challenge to him or as he would say (who’s the next victim). He also enjoyed grilling out and having a cold Modelo and of course listening to his oldies. Dad was a great cook, athletic & smart and loved watching the Chiefs and Royal’s games. He had an addictive laugh & a handsome smile. He was very witty & had a way to make everyone laugh in the room. He had a huge heart & he always made sure everyone had enough to eat. There is nothing he would not have done for his kids & always provided good advice during challenging times.

Vincent worked for Twentieth Century then tarnished to American Century and then finally retired after 36 years with JP Morgan in Kansas City. Then he picked up another job to keep busy at Menards. He had deep love for his children & made every effort to tell his kids and grandkids and many great grandchildren he loved them all.

When I was very young I remember Vince was a permanent fixture at our house, he was like family. As they grew up they all joined the baseball team The Storm and made great memories. I remember going to watch the games with Ronnie ( my husband) , He was always joking and laughing with them, he will be missed. RIP Vince!
