Virginia Heydenreich, 88 of Olathe, Kansas passed away Sept. 6, 2017. Per her request, no formal services are planned. Family will gather at a later date to join her ashes with her beloved John’s off the coast of California. She was preceeded in death by husband, John Heydenreich and brothers Mac and Calvin Ozier. Survivors include daughters, Patricia Botham (Larry); Mary Dring (Karl) and Susan Edwards (Doug). Grandchildren Kasey, Riley, Sarah and Emily. Brother John Ozier (Susan).
Mrs. Heydenreich was born 8-8-1929 in Memphis, Tenn. to Clarence and Sarah Belle Ozier. After college, Virginia traveled to England to teach school at Sealand Air Force Base. There she met her true love, John Heydenreich and they were married in Wales. Their first daughter, Patricia, was born in England before they returned to the United States. Daughters Mary Beth and Susan were born in Calif. where the Heydenreich’s resided for 45 years. After John’s death, Virginia (aka Gina) relocated to Kansas where daughter Susan and family live close by.
Virginia will be fondly remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandma. The ocean, mountains, birds and flowers gave her much joy and solitude. Teaching elementary school children was her passion and contributed to her youthful, fun-loving personality. Friends describe her as a sweet, gentle Southern lady; family attests to a feisty side combined with a great sense of humor. Always generous with her love, time and talents, she was a true example of a Godly woman.
Special thanks to Kansas City Hospice angels who helped make her final journey home so peaceful. We take comfort knowing she is no longer in pain and is with her Lord and Savior. At our appointed time, we too will join her in Christ’s heavenly kingdom; what a glorious promise!
She was a lovely person and I feel privileged to have known her. Prayers and blessings to all the family.
