Virginia Mae Wheatley, 89, of Warrensburg, Missouri passed away January 25, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Chilhowee Restoration Branch of Jesus Christ Church, 310 E Cedar Street Chilhowee, Missouri 64733. Ms. Wheatley was born May 29, 1928 in Thayer, Missouri.
Virginia attended Memphis State University for accounting. She worked at the Independence Sanitarium and Hospital for many years then the Marine Corps from which she retired. She then went to work at Walmart.
She was preceded in death by parents Harry and Chloe Miller, husband Warren Dale Wheatley, sons Robert Harold Nielsen and Ronald Harry Nielsen, step-daughter Marlene Rose Dyck, step-son Charles LeRoy Wheatley and sister Rita Faye Wells.
Survivors include children; Marna Kristina Neal, Sandra Lynn Dauth and Deborah Jean Nielsen, step-children; Kenneth Warren Wheatley, Darrel Wayne Wheatley, LuAnne Elaine Hanford, Brent Randall Wheatley and Beth Dalene Martens, 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 15 step grandchildren, and 12 step great grandchildren.

I am saddened to learn of “Ginny” passing away. We dated steadily most of the summer of 1945, while I was in the Navy near Memphis. The last time I saw her was 1946, after my discharge from the US Navy. I may have known her husband at Graceland College in 1947. We called him “Wheaties”. I still have some pictures of her, and of us together.
