Virginia Zell Richardson

VIRGINIA ZELL RICHARDSON

Virginia Zell Richardson was born to Walter E. and Kathryn B. Grumbles on May 5, 1923 in Carizozo, NM and passed away on August 18, 2013 in Kansas City, MO at the Kansas City Hospice House.  Virginia was raised in Tucumcari, NM where she married her childhood sweetheart since the 7^th grade, Clifton Richardson, on December 25, 1944.  Together they lived, worked, and raised two sons in the Tucumcari area.  She enjoyed card games, dominos, sewing, crochet, knitting, and other arts and crafts, and spending time in the mountains.  In May 2007, for health reasons, the Richardsons moved to Raymore, MO to be near family.  Virginia is preceded in death by her parents; her brother Walter; her sister Evelyn; her husband, Clifton; and son Gary.  She is survived by her son Alan and his wife Carol of Kansas City, MO; five grandchildren, Brandy (Jon), Kelly, Bridgette, Troy (Jessica), and Katie (Tony); and eight grandchildren.  Bridgette’s children are Ivory, Ezra and Miette.  Troy’s children are Mikey, Addie, and Gracie.  Brandy’s children are Skeet and Wyatt.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Virginia are requested for the Kansas City Hospice House at 12000 Wornall Rd., KCMO 64145.
