Vivian Adele Brownell, 88, of Kansas City passed away December 13, 2013 at home surrounded by family. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM followed by a Memorial Services at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Community Christian Church Plaza in the Chapel, 4601 Main, Kansas City, MO 64112. Ms. Brownell was born July 30, 1925 in Sedgwick, KS.
Vivian was the fourth of seven children. She attended Shawnee Mission North High School and graduated in 1943. She worked at the Gas Company for 42 years as an Executive Secretary. She was a life-long resident of Kansas City…A city she held very near and dear to her heart. Vivian was a member of Community Christian Church for fifty Years. She was involved with many organizations including Friends of the Zoo, Youth Friends, The Art Study Club at the Nelson Atkins and a season ticket holder for the Kansas City Chiefs.
She was preceded in death by her parents August and Alta Maeder, sisters Ruth Bell-Curran, Carolyn York and Edna Fisher and brother Albert Maeder.
Survivors include sisters Helen Davis and Elva June Wager-Smith, numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
