Vivian Marie Teter

Vivian Marie Teter, age 96, passed away on October 30, 2026, in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

Born Vivian Marie Edwards on February 19, 1930, in Macon, Missouri, she lived a long and beautiful life filled with love, laughter, music, family, and adventure.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 80 years, Donald J. Teter of Independence, Missouri. Together, they shared a lifetime of love, companionship, and countless memories. She also leaves behind many beloved family members and dear friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with her. There is comfort in knowing that she is now reunited in heaven with her two beloved sons, Robin Lee Teter and Rodney J. Teter.

There were so many things that made Vivian special. She loved traveling, ballroom dancing, and, most of all, spending time with the people she loved. Music was always close to her heart, and she never let a forgotten lyric stop her from singing. If she didn’t know the words to a song, she simply made up her own! Her sense of humor and love of music brought smiles and laughter to those around her.

Vivian was a wonderful homemaker who showed her love through the many ways she cared for others. Family holidays meant gathering around a table filled with the delicious feasts she lovingly prepared. She was always ready to mend a piece of clothing, lend a helping hand, or take care of whatever someone needed. Her home was a place of comfort, good food, and togetherness, and her family was always at the heart of it all.

At 96 years old, Vivian leaves behind a lifetime of stories, traditions, laughter, and memories that will live on through the many people fortunate enough to have known and loved her.

She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
