Wallace Wendell Poague, 91, of Kansas City, MO, passed away at his home April 9, 2011. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, April 15, at Missouri Funeral Care, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, MO. Graveside services will be that afternoon at the Lincoln Cemetery in Lincoln, MO. He was born in Benton County, MO, to Wallace A. and Jewette Smith Poague. Wendell graduated from Lincoln High School in 1937. After serving 4 years in the US Army Air Corp during WWII, he and Maxine Hughes were married in 1948. Wendell spent his career as an over-the-road truck driver. He enjoyed reading, gardening, woodworking and hunting. He is survived by his wife Maxine, son Monte Poague and wife Michele of Aurora, CO, daughter Lynne Larson and husband Al of Forest City, IA, son Kevin Poague of Lee’s Summit, MO, 4 grandchildren and 2 great- grandchildren.
