William Brian Buell of Independence, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, December 31, 2007. Bill was 55 years old. For the past eight years Bill worked as a senior counselor for Missouri’s Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation. His career with Vocational Rehabilitation involved evaluating and providing assistance to clients with Traumatic Brain Injury. Bill was born October 12, 1952, in Meridan, Connecticut as the youngest son of Robert K. and Ruth W. Buell. Bill attended public schools in Meridan, Conn., Kansas City, Mo., and Jefferson City, Mo. He earned two bachelor of science degrees, in Sociology and Psychology. He also completed a master of education degree in the area of Guidance and Counseling at Lincoln University. Bill is survived by his parents, two older brothers, Robert S. Buell of Hot Springs, Ark., and Gregory R. Buell of Boulder, Colo. He is also survived by numerous personal friends and professional colleagues who will greatly miss his friendship and humor. A memorial service will be held at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, 4000 Lee Summit Road, Independence, Mo., on Sunday, January 6, at 4 p.m. Visitation from 3 to 4 p.m. Bill’s ashes will be interred at a later date in Jefferson City.
