William Eugene “Billy” Gibson, 73, Taos, formerly of Bonnots Mill, passed away May 8, 2020, at Stone Bridge Senior Living-Adams Street, Jefferson City.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Fountain of Life Family Worship Center, 95 Grant Street in Jefferson City, with Pastors David and Valerie Fowler officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service.
Billy was born June 6, 1946, to Virgil Wells and Margaret Sommers in Jefferson City. He was united in marriage to Donna (Morris) Gibson, June 17, 1967 in Columbia.
He held numerous positions over the years in the carpentry, masonry, maintenance and janitorial work. Billy was a member of the Life House Church, Holts Summit.
He was preceded in death by biological parents, Virgil and Margaret; step-father Perry Gibson; sisters, Linda Gibson, Cheryl Gibson; brother, Walter Gibson; father-in-law, Charles “Blackie” Morris; brother-in-law, Charlie Morris, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Mary Gibson; grandparents.
He survived by wife, Donna of the home; sons, Gene (Becky) of Taos and Eddie (Terri) of Bixby; grandsons, James Gibson of Charleston, Brandon Gibson of Jefferson City; granddaughter, Bridget Neel of Moberly; sisters, Kimberly Wells-Adams of Festus, Barbara Elliott of Fisk; Marsha Boelkes of Bonnots Mill and Vanda (Larry) Rice of Ashland; mother-in-law, Dorothy Morris of Bonnots Mill; sisters-in-laws, Kim Verslues of Bonnots Mill, Sheila (Glenn) Boyer of Columbia and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
