William Gale Turner

William Gale Turner, 76, Kansas City, MO, passed away Monday, May 24, 2004, at home. Friends may call 5-6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 2004, at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd., Raytown, MO 64133. Bill was born in Guilford, MO. He was a member of the Cherokee Nation. He attended UMKC and earned his Master’s of Science in Geology at Duke University. After earning his degree, he was an assistant professor at Duke University. Bill bought and sold antiquarian books throughout his life. He spent many years traveling in Europe and was a member of the Linguistics Club in Madrid, Spain. Bill married Olga Rodriguez Turner in 2002. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Gale and Gertrude Turner, and son, William. He is survived by his wife, Olga of Spain; brothers, Jerry Turner, Raytown, MO, Joseph Turner, Portland, OR, Charlie Turner, Norfolk, VA; sisters, Wanda Glee Hargrave, Harrisonville, MO, Martha Eddington, Independence, MO, Melvina Robertson, Springfield, MO, and Charliene Turner, Houston, TX; and many nieces and nephews.
