William L. Burton, 87, passed away February 3, 2014 at his home in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. William was a WWII Korean War Veteran, proudly serving in the US Army Air Corp.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Martha A. (Dees) Burton; his wife, Martha E. (Osborn) Burton; his sisters, Elva Belvins and Betty Talley; and his brothers, Zack Burton and Kenneth Burton.
William is survived by his 7 children, Roberta (Bruce) Tyhurst, James (Sue) King, Mary Guevara, Barbara White and Jorge Rios, Catherine Berry, Arnold (Lisa) Burton, and Everett Burton; sisters, Mary Martin, Jane Firuccia, and Katherine Slape-Love; brothers, Gilbert Burton, Jr. and Ross Burton; 17 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; 36 nieces and nephews; and many other loving family members.
Military graveside services will take place on February 8, 2014 at 10:00 am at Hillcrest Cemetery, Excelsior Springs, MO. (arr. Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 816-313-1677)
