Bill Boedecker, 57, Grandview, MO, passed away March 17, 2009 at the Kansas City, V.A. Hospital. Bill was born in Anamosa, Iowa in 1951, and lived most of his life in Cedar Rapids, IA. The last 10 years he made Grandview his home. He was an Army veteran, and a member of Evangel Temple. Bill volunteered at the Salvation Army in Grandview for 9 years. It was his “job,” that he be there faithfully, to stock shelves and hand out food at the pantry. Bill never had an unkind word for anyone. You were blessed if you received a cheezy gift, a piece of candy, or a catalog in a white sack. Bill is survived by his sisters, Barbara Butterfield (Butch) and Peggy Corlee (Charles) 4 nephews and many great nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to the Salvation Army in Grandview: 6111 E. 129th St., Grandview, MO 64030. A celebration of Bill’s life will be held Evangel Temple, 1414 E. 103rd St. Kansas City, MO 64131, at Noon, on Sat. March 28, 2009. His sisters would like to thank the wonderful staff at the V.A. who cared for Bill over the past years.
